Prince of Charming

Kate Carmichael has not had an easy life.  After her mother's death, her father left her in the care of a kind friend while he attempted to settle his debts, but he never returned.  Now, twelve years later, Kate's guardian has passed away.   And without a will promising her the Victorian house, the guardian's next of kin is ready to take possession and throw her out on the street.

With only a week before she's evicted, Kate must find the will.   During her search, she inadvertently frees Robin Goodfellow from the portrait he has been magically trapped in for the past two hundred years, but the spell isn't completely broken.  Some mysterious force compels Robin to remain at Kate's side.   And even as they agree to help each other, a different kind of magic takes hold--leaving them spellbound in love...

"Karen Fox has carved out a special fairy circle for her readers to come back to time and again as she leaves us spellbound in laughter and fiery love.
--Suzanne Coleburn, The Belles and Beaux of Romance

"Ms. Fox pens a terrific tale of magic and love.  The pages fairly vibrate with the sexual tension these two characters create between them and the fantasy come to life plot makes Prince of Charming a delightful story that will charm its readers page after page."

"I thought Prince of Charming was a very good Fairy Tale.   I usually don't care much for stories about fairies, but I was truly charmed by Robin.  Kate's insecurities as a large, full-figured woman rang true, as did the fact that Robin saw her beauty.  ..this was altogether an enjoyable story and was well worth the reading."
Flora for Bookaholics.com

"Readers will stand up and cheer for Karen Fox's Prince of Charming!  Finally, a heroine who's a real woman.  Finally, a hero who knows what a rare find she is!  Finally, a book for us all to adore!  Thank you Karen Fox for creating the most lovable hero romance has seen in a long, long time!"
--Maggie Shayne, Destiny, February 2001

"Ms. Fox has penned a delightful tale filled to the brim with passion, warmth and humor.  This story was great fun.   Karen threw in a little surprise at the end that put the couple's happiness over the top.  Nope, I'm not telling.  You'll just have to read the book.  And if you like it as much as I did, get psyched because there will be another!  This time the fairy will be a female in search of a mortal prince."
--Leslie Tramposch, ParaNormal Romance (PNR)

"What a fun read!  I zipped through Prince of Charming, turning pages as fast as I could.  This is the first book by Karen Fox that I've read, but it will not be the last.  Robin and Kate are terrific characters, with depths that I enjoyed watching develop.  The magical aspects were fun, making a good story into a great one.  I urge readers of paranormal romance to pick up this book as quickly as they can."
--Karen Larsen, Scribes World Reviews

"I started reading this book late one evening.  I have to tell you right now, that was a BIG mistake!  By the time I put it down, it was very late and I had already read about half of the book.  I...am eagerly waiting for more of the same from Karen Fox."
--Kathy Boswell, Kathy's Faves and Raves

"Fans of Jove's Magical Love line take heart.  Prince of Charming is a fantastical journey in the faery tale realm of myth, magic, and happily-ever-after.   Karen Fox's fantasy romance is sweet and charming, with plenty of Fae magic to burn up the pages."
--Cheryl Jeffries, Romance Journal

Prince of Charming is a wonderful, sexy novel that captures your imagination right from the start.  Make sure you put Prince of Charming on your Christmas list!"
--Shari Brennan, Sime~Gen

"While proficient in the mechanics of writing such as plot, pace and dialogue, the true strength of Ms. Fox's writing lies in her ability to create highly engaging characters in the context of a realistic, plausible fantasy.  Though three years in the coming, Prince of Charming has proved well worth the wait.  I look forward to her next book, Queen of Hearts in fall 2001."
--Sondrea Cash, Romance Reviews Today

"Prince of Charming is just that, a charming book to read about the struggles two people have with their inner and outer turmoils.  Sexual tensions abounds and beneath that, love.  Well done!"
--Mary Kay Moore, Mystic Visions

"Sweet and sensual, Prince of Charming offers something for all readers.  From characters that appeal and sizzle to conflicts that draw the reader into the story and refuses to release them until the final page.  A page turner and a welcome edition to one's reading pile.  Karen Fox proves that her writing is simply charming."
--John Richard, UReviewIt

"Prince of Charming is an amusing fantasy romance that will enchant sub-genre fans.  Karen Fox writes a novel that is fun to read."

Why Did I Write This Book?

In glancing through my book of Things That Never Were, I happened across an entry on Robin Goodfellow also known as Puck.  While I've never been attracted to Puck, the handsome drawing of Robin included with this entry caught my eye at once and set me to thinking--an immortal who is half-human, half-Fae, endowed with magical powers and a potent sexuality.  I could do something with that and I did.  Before long, Robin came to life--as sexy a hero as I've ever created.  So, who was right for him?   As I'm tall (nearly six foot) and well-endowed <g>, I decided to pass these traits onto my heroine--Kate Carmichael--who's always felt out of sync with the thin stereotype for women today.  But Robin isn't from today and Kate is just right for him.  Let the fun begin!!
